Welcome to the

18th Annual Student Design Competition

Hosted by:

American Society of Mechanical Engineers

Florida West Coast Section

Come and help us celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Incandescent Light bulb by taking on our “Mystery Design Challenge!”  Three to five person teams from regional high schools will compete for prizes and awards in this perennial event.  They’ll be asked to think on their feet and prove that their school has the brightest, future scientists and engineers!  Can your school walk away with the bragging rights for the next year??  Or are you going to let East Lake High (last year’s winner) win again without a fight?  Don’t be left out!  Get your team together now!

Get with your Science Teachers/Advisors to register!

When:  March 13th, 2004: 9:30 am to 1:30 pm

Where:  Tyrone Square Mall, St. Petersburg, FL

How:  Sign up by February 14th, 2004; Teams of 3 to 5

Pre-registration is required.  All participants will receive a T-Shirt and other cool give-aways.  Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams.  Students will be allowed to bring scientific calculators, but will be given everything else they need to complete the challenge.
